Are you eligible?
Education
Minimum 60% (relaxed for SC/ST/PwBD) in the qualifying degree. Generalist: any bachelor's degree. Actuarial: graduation + 7 IAI papers. Finance: graduation + ACA/CMA/ACS/CFA. Law: LLB. IT: BE/B.Tech (IT/CS/ECE) or MCA. Research: master's/PG diploma in Economics/Statistics.
Age
21–30 years. Relaxations: SC/ST +5, OBC +3, PwBD +10 to +15, plus ex-servicemen.
Nationality
Indian citizen (or Nepal/Bhutan subject, Tibetan refugee pre-1962, PIO from specified countries).
How the IRDAI Assistant Manager is structured
Three stages. Phase I is a 160-mark, 160-question objective online test (90 min, ¼ negative marking, qualifying only). Phase II is a descriptive online exam of three 100-mark papers - English, Economic & Social Issues impacting Insurance, and Insurance & Management (stream-oriented). Final merit combines Phase II and the Interview in an 85:15 ratio.

How to crack the IRDAI Assistant Manager
Apply online
Register at irdai.gov.in during the application window, choose your stream, upload documents and pay the fee (₹750 General; ₹100 SC/ST/PwBD).
Clear Phase I (Preliminary)
Sit the 160-mark objective online test and clear the sectional/overall cut-offs (¼ negative marking). Phase I is qualifying only.
Clear Phase II (Descriptive)
Appear for the three descriptive papers - English, ESI impacting Insurance, and Insurance & Management (stream). These 300 marks carry 85% weightage.
Attend the Interview
Shortlisted candidates are interviewed; the interview carries 15% weightage in final merit.
Final merit list
Selection is on combined Phase II + Interview score in the 85:15 ratio, stream-wise in order of merit.

Complete document verification and medical formalities, then join IRDAI (headquartered in Hyderabad) as an Assistant Manager.
