How the IIBF International Trade Finance is structured
The certificate is a single online, remote-proctored exam of 120 MCQs for 100 marks in 2 hours, taken on a desktop or laptop from a place of your choice. There is no negative marking and the pass mark is 60/100. The exam is in English only. Each attempt is a separate registration with its own fee, and you choose your exam date and slot when you register; it cannot be changed afterwards.

How to crack the IIBF International Trade Finance
Check eligibility
You need to have passed 12th standard in any discipline. IIBF members and non-members can both apply.
Register online and pick a slot
Register on iibf.org.in during the window for your chosen date and book a time slot. Slots are first come, first served and cannot be changed.
Pay the fee
₹1,100 for members or ₹1,600 for non-members, plus convenience charges and taxes. You can add IIBF's e-learning or e-book at the same time for an extra fee.
Study the courseware
Prepare with IIBF's "International Trade Finance" book (Taxmann, 2025 edition), the ICC rules themselves and mock tests.
Take the remote-proctored exam
Sit the 120-question, 2-hour paper on a Windows desktop or laptop with a webcam. Score at least 60/100; there is no negative marking.
Receive your certificate
IIBF emails a digitally signed certificate to your registered email within 3 weeks of the result.

The Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF). It is listed on IIBF's site as the Certificate in International Trade Finance, and the rules document calls it the Certificate Examination in International Trade Finance.
What is the eligibility?
12th standard pass in any discipline, or its equivalent. IIBF members and non-members can both register.
What are the passing marks and is there negative marking?
You need 60 out of 100 to pass, and there is no negative marking.
What is the exam fee?
₹1,100 for IIBF members and ₹1,600 for non-members, for the first and every later attempt, plus convenience charges and taxes.
How difficult is the exam?
Harder than most IIBF certificates: in 2024-25, 1,026 of 4,081 candidates passed (25.14%), and in 2023-24 the pass rate was 31.87%, per IIBF's annual report.
Can I write the exam from home?
Yes. It is remote-proctored, on a Windows desktop or laptop with a working webcam and microphone. Mobiles and tablets are not allowed.
Is there a limit on attempts?
IIBF's Rules & Syllabus 2026 sets no attempt limit. Every attempt needs a fresh registration and the full fee.
