SBI Clerk Eligibility: Age, Degree, Language
The degree and age checks are easy. The local language rule is the one that catches applicants.
SBI Clerk eligibility has three straightforward checks and one that decides your application strategy. The straightforward ones: a bachelor's degree in any discipline (final-year candidates may apply provisionally), an age of 20 to 28 years on the cut-off date with standard relaxations, and Indian citizenship or a specified equivalent category.
The strategic one is language. You apply state-wise, and you must know the official or local language of the state you apply to. That rule should drive which state you choose before anything else on the form does.

The Local Language Rule, Properly Explained
Every SBI Clerk applicant chooses a state, and knowledge of that state's official or local language is required. If you studied the language in class 10, that satisfies the requirement. If you did not, you must pass a qualifying Language Proficiency Test after mains: pass/fail, no marks toward merit, but failing it disqualifies you regardless of your exam score.
Choose a state whose language you can actually read and write. A state picked for a softer expected cut-off is no bargain if the LPT ends the candidature after you have already cleared the hard part.
