IIBF Treasury Manager Exam Pattern
Two stages, two pass marks. Here is exactly how the online paper and the classroom assessment are scored.
The IIBF Certified Treasury Manager (CTP) exam pattern has two stages. Stage one is an online, remote-proctored Treasury Operations paper: 100 MCQs, including case-based questions, for 100 marks in 2 hours, in English, with no negative marking and a pass mark of 50 out of 100. Stage two is 3 days of classroom training with an internal assessment out of 50, where at least 25 is needed to be certified.
That second stage is the part most candidates discover late. Clearing the online paper does not certify you; it qualifies you to book the training. This page covers the mechanics of both stages, and what each pass mark actually means.

Both Stages Are Compulsory

What Case-Based MCQs Change
A plain MCQ tests one fact. A case-based MCQ gives a scenario, a bond's coupon and price, a forward rate quote, a liquidity position, and asks for a worked answer. The Treasury Operations paper uses both, and the case questions are the reason 2 hours can feel short on a 100-question paper.
There is no negative marking, so every question should be attempted. The real constraint is time spent per calculation, which is a preparation problem, not an exam-day problem. The preparation page covers how to train for it.
