ICAI DISA Exam Pattern and Passing Marks
Four assessments stand between enrolment and the DISA certificate. The last one is a 200-mark, 4-hour CBT.
"The DISA exam" usually means the ISA Assessment Test (AT): one computer-based test of 200 marks, from 9 am to 1 pm IST, with 60% flat (120 marks) needed to pass. It is the last of four scored stages in the ISA 3.0 course, and the only one run by ICAI's Examination Department rather than the Digital Accounting and Assurance Board.
This page covers all four stages, because you can't reach the AT without clearing the first three.

What ICAI Doesn't Publish
ICAI's course documents and AT announcements give the marks, pass mark, timing and mode, but not the number of questions, the question type or any negative-marking rule. Read the candidate instructions on isaat.icai.org before the test rather than relying on figures quoted elsewhere.
The Four Scored Stages, in Order
- 1
E-learning assessment test
After the 20-hour e-learning, an assessment test unlocks automatically. It is mandatory before you can join professional training.
- 2
Three module tests during training
3 online tests of 20 marks each, 30 minutes each, taken in your login on set days of the training. A missed test can't be retaken except in exceptional cases with DAAB's approval.
- 3
Group project and viva
A project done in groups of three, worth 20 marks: 10 for the project work and 10 for the viva.
- 4
Eligibility Test (ET)
Score 48 of 80 across module tests and project to qualify, then 72 of 120 (60%) in the ET itself.
- 5
Assessment Test (AT)
Apply on isaat.icai.org, then score 120 of 200 (60% flat) in the computer-based test.

Terms Worth Getting Right
- ISA vs DISA
- ISA (Information Systems Audit) 3.0 is the course. DISA (Diploma in Information Systems Audit) is the certificate you receive after passing the AT.
- ET vs AT
- The Eligibility Test is the course's internal gate, organised by DAAB. The Assessment Test is the final test, conducted by the Examination Department, with its own application form on isaat.icai.org.
- 60% flat
- ICAI's wording for the AT pass mark. It is stated as a single aggregate of 120 out of 200; ICAI's documents mention no section-wise minimum.
- CBT
- Computer-based test. The 2026 ATs were announced as CBT only, at ICAI exam cities, each held only if enough candidates opt for that city.
Before Test Day
- checkApply on isaat.icai.org inside the announced window and pay the ₹2,000 fee online (card, net banking or BHIM UPI).
- checkPick an exam city from the announcement's list. ICAI may withdraw a centre, so check your admit details close to the date.
- checkRead the candidate instructions on the portal for the question format and rules on test day.
- checkPlan for a four-hour sitting from 9 am. A full timed practice paper is the only way to know how your concentration holds.
- checkKeep the helpline handy: [email protected].
