IIBF Treasury Manager Previous Year Question Papers
No official CTP paper is released. Here is what genuinely helps you prepare instead.
If you came here for an IIBF Certified Treasury Manager previous year paper with answers, the short answer is that no official one exists. IIBF does not release past question papers, model papers or answer keys for the CTP exam.
What does exist is worth having: the exact paper format, the five modules the questions are drawn from, and a clear view of how the calculation-heavy parts are tested. This page covers those, and explains what to do with the recalled question sets that circulate under the "previous year papers" label.

IIBF Does Not Publish Official CTP Past Papers
There is no official archive, PDF or answer key from IIBF for past Treasury Operations papers. Material advertised as an actual CTP paper is, at best, a candidate's reconstruction written from memory after sitting the exam. This page will not host, reproduce or link to that kind of file, and will not describe it as official.
Why Recalled Papers Circulate, and How Far to Trust Them
The exam is remote-proctored and the question set is never released, so anything claiming to be the paper comes from someone typing up what they remember afterwards. Each copy drifts a little further from whatever was actually asked: options get reworded, numbers get rounded, and the stated answer is sometimes simply wrong.
For a treasury paper that turns on precise arithmetic, that drift is not harmless. A recalled bond-valuation question with a mistyped coupon or a wrong day count teaches you the wrong method. Use recalled sets, if at all, for a feel of phrasing and difficulty, and verify every answer from the underlying concept before you accept it.
The CTP Paper Format You Are Actually Practising For

What the Format Tells You About Practice
A hundred questions in two hours is roughly 72 seconds each, and a meaningful share of them are case-based, which means reading a short scenario before the arithmetic even starts. Speed on the direct calculations is what buys time for those.
No negative marking changes the endgame: every question should carry an answer by the time you submit. That is only useful if you have practised pacing, because the common failure is not wrong answers, it is questions left untouched.
Where the Questions Come From
The five syllabus modules are the real map of what any paper can ask. The full topic list is on the syllabus page.
- Financial Market and Role of Treasury
- Markets, participants and instruments, the operating and regulatory environment, and the split between front, mid and back office functions. Mostly conceptual questions.
- Money Market Operations
- Money-market instruments, call, notice and term money, CRR and SLR liquidity management, repo, reverse repo and TREPS. A mix of concept and short calculation.
- Investment and Fixed Income
- Government securities and bonds, bond valuation, yield and duration, portfolio and reserve management, and ALM. The heaviest calculation module.
- Forex Dealings
- Quotes and participants, cash, spot and forward rates, currency swaps and dealing platforms, settlement and forex risk. Rate arithmetic appears constantly here.
- Derivatives and Dealing Ethics
- Interest rate swaps, forwards, futures and options, hedging and arbitrage, the FIMMDA and FEDAI code of conduct, and time value of money. Ethics questions are recall, the rest are applied.
How to Practise Without a Past Paper
What replaces solving an old paper, in the order it is worth doing:
- 1
Work from the syllabus, not from someone's recollection
The five modules are published and stable. They define the question universe more reliably than any recalled set, which only reflects the handful of questions one candidate happened to remember.
- 2
Drill the calculations until the method is automatic
Bond price and yield, duration, forward rates, swap cash flows. These are the questions that either take fifteen seconds or three minutes, and the difference decides whether you finish the paper.
- 3
Practise case-based questions separately
A scenario question tests whether you can pick the right method from a paragraph of context. That is a different skill from computing once the method is chosen, and it needs its own reps.
- 4
Take full-length timed sets, not loose question batches
The only honest substitute for a past paper is 100 questions in 120 minutes, scored. It surfaces pacing problems and weak modules that a leisurely untimed set will hide.
- 5
Review every wrong answer to the concept, not to the option
Note which module produced the error. Two or three repeats from the same module is your study plan for the following week.
A Note on Free PDF Downloads
We do not offer a CTP previous year papers PDF, and we do not link to third-party ones. No official past papers exist to distribute, and what circulates under that name is recalled material of uncertain accuracy. Free practice questions written against the published syllabus, in the real 100-question format, are the more honest way to prepare.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does IIBF release previous year question papers for the Certified Treasury Manager exam?expand_more
No. IIBF does not publish past CTP question papers, model papers or answer keys for any cycle.
Where can I download a CTP previous year paper with solutions?expand_more
There is no official source, because the papers are not released. Files offered under that name elsewhere are candidate recollections written after the exam, not verified originals.
Are memory-based CTP questions reliable?expand_more
Only as a rough guide to phrasing and difficulty. Wording, numbers and the stated answer can all be wrong, which matters more in a calculation-heavy treasury paper than in a theory paper. Verify any answer against the concept before accepting it.
Do CTP questions repeat between cycles?expand_more
There is no published basis for assuming they do. The five syllabus modules recur because they are the subject, not because specific questions are recycled, so prepare the concept rather than the question.
What format should I practise in?expand_more
The real one: 100 MCQs including case-based questions, 100 marks, 2 hours, in English, with no negative marking and a pass mark of 50 out of 100.
Does the classroom training have past papers?expand_more
No. The classroom stage is assessed internally out of 50 through mock dealing and case studies during the 3 days of training, so there is no paper to release.
