NISM Series X-A Registration & Exam Dates
There is no annual Series X-A exam date. Registration is continuous and you pick your own slot. Here is how it works.
There is no NISM Series X-A exam date. That is not an omission. NISM certification exams run on demand, all year round. You register, pay, choose a test centre and pick a slot, and you sit the exam on the day you selected. There is no annual notification to wait for and no application window that closes.
So the real question behind "when is the Series X-A exam" is usually "how soon can I sit it?", and the answer is as soon as there is a free slot, which in most cases is within a week or two.
How to register
The whole process runs through NISM's own certification portal:
- 1
Create an account on the NISM certifications portal
One account covers every NISM certification.
- 2
Select Series X-A: Investment Adviser (Level 1)
Check the series code on the payment screen: adjacent series have similar names and different scope.
- 3
Choose your test centre and slot
Availability drives the date. Metro centres typically have slots within days; smaller centres can run a couple of weeks out.
- 4
Pay the fee
₹3,000 plus applicable GST, paid online at booking. The fee is per attempt.
- 5
Sit the exam and get your result on screen
The result is displayed on submission. There is no separate results date.

What happens at the 3-year mark
The certificate is valid for 3 years. To stay certified you either sit the exam again or complete the CPE (Continuing Professional Education) programme before it lapses. Plan it before expiry. Letting the certificate lapse means going back to the full exam.
