IRDAI Assistant Manager Syllabus: Phase I and Phase II
Four objective sections in Phase I, three descriptive papers in Phase II. The full topic list, phase by phase.
The IRDAI Assistant Manager syllabus splits cleanly by phase. Phase I is an objective test of four sections: Reasoning, English Language, General Awareness including insurance and financial awareness, and Quantitative Aptitude. Phase II is descriptive, with three papers: English, Economic and Social Issues impacting Insurance, and Insurance and Management, which is oriented to your chosen stream.
That split matters for planning. The Phase I sections are the standard aptitude set you would see in a bank PO exam. Phase II is where this exam becomes its own thing: two of the three papers need insurance-specific depth that generic current-affairs preparation does not cover.
