RBI Grade B runs on an annual cycle: a notification, an application window of about three weeks, Phase 1, Phase 2 roughly a month later, and interviews after that. In the 2024 cycle the notification came on 25 July and the final interviews ran into early 2025.
RBI has not fixed a permanent calendar, so the reliable way to use this page is as a shape, not a schedule: when a new notification lands on rbi.org.in, the stages below will follow in the same order at similar spacing.

How to Apply, Step by Step

Apply online
Register on the RBI opportunities portal during the application window, upload documents and pay the fee: ₹850 for General/OBC/EWS, ₹100 for SC/ST/PwBD.

Clear Phase 1
Sit the 200-mark objective screening test and score above both sectional and overall cut-offs, with one-fourth negative marking in play.

Clear Phase 2
Appear for the three 100-mark papers: ESI, English writing, and Finance & Management. Aggregate performance decides interview shortlisting.

Attend the interview
Shortlisted candidates face a 75-mark personal interview; an optional psychometric test may be administered.

Final merit and selection
Merit is Phase 2 (300) plus Interview (75). Phase 1 marks are not counted in the final list.

Document verification and joining
Complete document verification and medical fitness, then join as Officer in Grade B across RBI offices.

Using the Gap Before the Next Notification
The application-to-Phase-1 gap in 2024 was about six weeks, which is too short to build Phase 2 depth from scratch. Candidates who clear this exam are usually preparing well before the notification appears. If you are reading this between cycles, that is the window that matters, and it is open now.
