IBPS RRB Salary: Every Post, With the Ladder
From Office Assistant to Senior Manager, each rung has a number. All four, in one table.
IBPS RRB pays by post. An Office Assistant starts at a basic of ₹20,700, roughly ₹33,000 to ₹37,000 per month in hand. An Officer Scale I starts at a basic of ₹48,480, roughly ₹57,000 to ₹61,000 in hand. Scale II and Scale III sit above that, at approximately ₹65,000-70,000 and ₹78,000-85,000 respectively. Actual figures vary by posting location.
The posts are rungs of one ladder inside a Regional Rural Bank, and internal promotion connects them. This page lays out each rung's pay and what the role actually involves.

What Each Role Actually Does
- Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
- The clerical and frontline cadre at an RRB branch: customer service, cash, passbooks, account opening and day-to-day transactions. Entry has no interview; growth is via internal promotion to Officer Scale I.
- Officer Scale I (Assistant Manager)
- The entry-level officer cadre, managing branch operations, credit and staff supervision. The first rung of the officer ladder, with structured promotion to Scale II and III.
- Officer Scale II (Manager)
- Middle management over larger branches or specialist functions: IT, Law, CA, Agriculture, Marketing, Treasury. Requires a relevant degree plus experience at entry.
- Officer Scale III (Senior Manager)
- Senior officer heading a large branch or a regional function, responsible for business development and administration across multiple branches.
The job starts with one exam. See its questions first.
Where the Postings Are
Postings sit within the operational area of the RRB you are allotted to, which is largely rural and semi-urban, though branches also exist in district and some urban centres. You commit to serving that state's RRB, so the state preference at application is a career decision, not a form field.
Following the 2025 One State, One RRB consolidation, the recruitment serves 28 Regional Rural Banks across nearly every state and union territory, which is what makes the state choice cleaner than it used to be: one state, one bank.
Pay Figures Follow the Notified Cycle
Vacancies, fees, dates, cut-offs and eligibility thresholds are revised per CRP RRB notification. Figures here reflect the 2025-26 cycle as last notified. Confirm the current notification on ibps.in before you act on them.
