Open to Non-Bankers Too
The one fact most write-ups underplay: you do not need to work at a bank to take this exam. IIBF opens the AML/KYC certificate to members and non-members alike, so anyone meeting the education requirement can register.
Who Can Take the AML/KYC Exam?
Both IIBF members and non-members can register for the AML/KYC certificate exam.
The education requirement is a pass in 12th standard (or its equivalent), or having completed IIBF's own BC/BF exam as an alternative route.
There is no upper age limit, and bank employment is not required.

The Registration Window Is Short, and We Won't Give You a Wrong Number
We are not going to quote a day-count for how far in advance you need to register. IIBF's recent cycles have varied, in one confirmed instance running as short as 5 days. Our own upstream sources disagree with each other on the figure, and IIBF's own Rules & Syllabus document itself commits to no fixed number either. Check IIBF's own exam-date page directly before you plan around a specific window.
Once Booked, It's Booked
IIBF's own rules state there is no provision to change a booked exam date or time slot, for any reason. Pick a date with real preparation time in mind, not just the earliest one open.
