A 60% Bar, and Most Candidates Missed It
IIBF's Annual Report 2025-26 shows that in 2024-25, 1,659 of the 5,737 candidates who sat this exam passed: a pass rate of 28.92%. In 2025-26 it improved to 48.09% (2,000 of 4,159), still fewer than half.
What the Numbers Mean in the Exam Room
120 questions in 120 minutes gives you one minute per question, with nothing left over for review unless you move faster on the easy ones. Timed practice matters more here than in a 100-question paper.
With no negative marking, a blank answer and a wrong answer both score zero. Attempt every question, and flag the hard ones to come back to rather than leaving them blank.
The pass mark is 60 out of 100, higher than the 50 that many other IIBF certificates need. Getting just over half right is a fail here, so careless errors cost more than they would elsewhere.
