SSC Stenographer Syllabus: Every CBT Section
Three sections, and English is worth as much as the other two combined. Here is the full topic list.
The SSC Stenographer CBT syllabus covers three sections: English Language and Comprehension, General Awareness, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. English carries 100 of the paper's 200 marks, which makes it worth the other two sections combined. Study time should mirror that split.
The stenography skill itself is not part of the CBT syllabus; it is tested separately at the skill-test stage. This page lists what the written paper draws from.

Why English Doubles Up for a Stenographer
The weighting is not arbitrary. The job is transcribing dictated English at speed, so the exam tests the language twice: once in the CBT, where it carries half the marks, and again in the skill test, where every transcription error counts against you. English study pays into both stages at once.
