IBBI Registered Valuer Eligibility and How to Register
You need the right degree and years of experience before you can even book the exam. Here's the full route.
To become an IBBI Registered Valuer, you need a qualification in the right discipline, years of experience after it, membership of a Registered Valuers Organisation (RVO), its 50-hour course, and a pass in the valuation exam for your asset class. Only then can you apply to IBBI for registration.
The order matters. The Companies (Registered Valuers and Valuation) Rules, 2017 open the exam only to people who already hold the qualifications and experience and have completed their RVO's educational course. You cannot sit the exam first and qualify later.

Check your qualification and experience
Match your degree and years of experience against the table above for the asset class you want.

Join a Registered Valuers Organisation
Enrol as a valuer member of an RVO recognised by IBBI for that asset class. The RVO checks your eligibility.

- 5

Score 60% or more. IBBI issues a pass certificate within 30 days.
- 6
Apply to IBBI in Form-A
File online through your RVO within 3 years of passing, with a non-refundable application fee of ₹5,000. Your RVO must recommend you.
- 7
Get your Certificate of Practice
After IBBI registers you, take a Certificate of Practice from your RVO before you start practising.
See the question style before you join an RVO.

Experience Is Counted After the Qualification
The 3 or 5 years run from the date you earned the qualifying degree, or from when you became a member of ICAI, ICSI or ICMAI. Experience before that does not count. If you are unsure whether your degree qualifies, IBBI's exam FAQ says you can write to its Registered Valuers Division at [email protected].
