IBBI Valuation Exam Fees, Attempts and Validity
₹5,900 every time you sit, any number of times. Here's the whole cost from course to certificate.
The IBBI valuation exam fee is ₹5,000 plus GST, which IBBI states as ₹5,900, for every enrolment. You pay it online on NISM's portal when you book your slot, and you pay it again for every re-attempt.
That is only one of the costs between you and registration. Before the exam you pay your Registered Valuers Organisation for membership and its 50-hour course, and after passing you pay IBBI a non-refundable registration application fee of ₹5,000.

Attempt Rules
- check_circleThere is no limit on attempts. Rule 5(5) lets you appear for the valuation exam any number of times.
- check_circleYou must wait 21 days between two consecutive attempts. IBBI cut this cooling-off period from 2 months to 21 days by a circular in January 2024.
- check_circleEach attempt is a fresh enrolment at ₹5,900.
- check_circleRescheduling is allowed only for a bona-fide reason, by writing to NISM at least 15 days before your exam date.
How Long a Pass Stays Valid
A pass is valid for 3 years. The Rules require that you passed the valuation exam within the 3 years before you apply for registration, and IBBI's registration FAQ counts the 3 years from the date of passing. Miss that window and you sit the exam again.
Registration is not the last step, either: IBBI's registration FAQ says a newly registered valuer must obtain a Certificate of Practice from their RVO before practising.
Test yourself before you pay ₹5,900.
Plan Your Attempts Around the Fee
With roughly 1 in 8 attempts passing in IBBI's 2023-24 figures, many candidates pay the ₹5,900 more than once. Two failed attempts cost ₹11,800 in exam fees alone, plus at least 42 days of waiting.
