CASA (Current Account Savings Account)
The share of a bank's deposits held in low-cost current and savings accounts.
CASA refers to the combined balances in Current Accounts and Savings Accounts, which carry little or no interest for the bank. A high CASA ratio lowers a bank's cost of funds and improves its net interest margin, so banks compete hard to grow it.
