The Registration Window Is Short
Each window is only 4 to 5 days, and slots are allotted first-come-first-served. IIBF will not change your date or slot after you register, so decide on your date before the window opens.

Which Regulatory Updates Your Paper Can Test
IIBF asks questions on recent regulatory developments, but only up to a cut-off date. For exams held March to August, guidelines issued up to 31 December of the previous year count. For exams held September to February, the cut-off is 30 June.
In practice: every remaining 2026 date, and any sitting up to February 2027, uses developments up to 30 June 2026. Sittings from March to August 2026 used 31 December 2025.
Cut-Off Dates for Current Developments
| Exams held | Developments counted up to |
|---|---|
| March 2026 to August 2026 | 31 December 2025 |
| September 2026 to February 2027 | 30 June 2026 |
Picking a Date That Works
- 1
Count back your preparation time
Choose a date that leaves you enough weeks to read the courseware once and take several full timed mocks.
- 2
Check the cut-off
Make sure your reading covers regulatory changes up to the cut-off date for your sitting.
- 3
Register on day one of the window
Slots fill first-come-first-served, and the window is only a few days long.
- 4
Test your system early
Remote proctoring needs a compliant desktop or laptop, webcam and 10 Mbps upload. Fix problems before exam day, not on it.
