Fee Rules That Catch People Out
- check_circleYou must register, and pay, separately for every attempt. A re-attempt costs the full fee again.
- check_circleIIBF does not refund or adjust the fee once paid, for any reason. Missing your slot means paying again.
- check_circleYour date and time slot cannot be changed after registration, so a clash on exam day also means paying again.
- check_circleThe ₹500 gap between member and non-member fees applies to every attempt.
How Many Attempts You Get
IIBF's Rules & Syllabus 2026 does not set an attempt limit or a registration-validity period for this exam. It simply says you register separately for every attempt. With sittings roughly twice a month, a failed attempt can usually be followed by another within a few weeks, at the full fee each time.
If you are counting on a limit or a window, confirm it with IIBF before you plan around it.
See the question format before you pay anything.
The Certificate
If you pass, IIBF emails a digitally signed certificate to your registered email address within 3 weeks of the result. IIBF has discontinued paper certificates. E-certificates can also be downloaded from IIBF's e-certificate portal, linked from the exam page.
IIBF's rules do not mention any expiry or renewal for this certificate.
Taking It as Part of CITAP?
The exam fee above covers only this certificate. CITAP, which needs this exam plus IT Security and CISB, has its own registration fee of ₹1,000 plus GST and a training fee of ₹4,500 plus GST, per IIBF's rules.
