IIBF DRA Exam Fees, Attempts and Certificate Validity
₹1,200 to IIBF per attempt, plus whatever your training agency charges. Here's the full cost picture.
The IIBF DRA exam fee is ₹1,200 per attempt, plus GST and convenience charges. It is the same for the first attempt and every re-attempt, and the same for IIBF members and non-members.
That is only what IIBF charges for the exam. Before you can sit it, you must complete 50 or 100 hours of training at an IIBF-accredited agency, and the agency sets its own training fee. For most candidates, the agency fee is the bigger number.

What the Agency's "All-In" Fee Should Cover
IIBF's own DRA FAQ says agencies may charge a consolidated fee covering application, registration, books and study material, the exam fee and library fee, of no more than ₹4,000 for online training or ₹6,500 for offline training. Ask your agency in writing whether its quote includes the ₹1,200 exam fee before you pay.
Fee Rules That Catch People Out
- check_circleYou register, and pay, separately for every attempt. A re-attempt costs the full exam fee again.
- check_circleRegistering in the extended days after the regular window closes adds a ₹200 late fee plus taxes.
- check_circleIIBF does not refund or adjust the exam fee once paid, for any reason. Missing the exam means paying again.
- check_circleYour training agency submits the exam application on your behalf, so the fee usually goes through the agency rather than directly to IIBF.

How Long Your Attempts Stay Valid
The exam fee buys one attempt. The attempts themselves run on a clock that starts when your training ends.
- 1
3 attempts
You can sit the exam up to 3 times.
- 2
Within 9 months of training
All attempts must fall within 9 months (270 days) of the date you completed training.
- 3
Otherwise, train again
Fail three times, or let the nine months run out, and you must redo the training and pay for it again before registering afresh.
How Long the DRA Certificate Is Valid
IIBF's own DRA FAQ states that, at present, there is no time limit on the validity of a DRA certificate. Once you pass, there is no renewal fee and no re-exam to keep it.
The certificate is digital: IIBF emails a digitally signed PDF within 3 weeks of the result. The certificate download page explains how to get it again if you lose it.
