JAIIB Previous Year Question Papers
IIBF doesn't release official JAIIB papers. Here's what genuinely helps you prepare instead.
If you landed here looking for a JAIIB previous year papers PDF with solutions, the direct answer is: it doesn't officially exist. IIBF does not publish past question papers, model papers or answer keys for JAIIB.
That doesn't mean there's nothing useful to work with. This page lays out exactly what does exist (the paper format, the topics candidates consistently flag as recurring, and a few worked examples in the real style) and what to do with the "memory-based" question sets that circulate elsewhere, without pretending any of it is an actual past paper.

IIBF does not publish official JAIIB previous year papers
There is no official archive, PDF or answer key from IIBF for past JAIIB papers. Anything online claiming to be an "actual JAIIB paper" is, at best, a candidate's after-the-fact reconstruction of what they remember, not a captured original. This page will not reproduce, host or link to that kind of material, and won't call it official.
Are JAIIB previous year papers available officially?
No. IIBF conducts JAIIB as a computer-based test and does not release the question set, a model paper or an answer key afterward, for any cycle. This is consistent across all four papers: IE&IFS, PPB, AFM and RBWM.
What you'll find instead, across many sites that rank for this search, is "memory-based" content: questions candidates reconstruct from memory after sitting the exam, sometimes compiled by coaching platforms and sold or given away as if they were the genuine paper. The wording drifts, the options drift, and occasionally the stated answer is simply wrong, because none of it is a verified original: it's recollection, repeated and copied forward. We're not going to add another uncertain copy of that to the pile.
What you can actually get here
Four things, each clearly labelled for what it is:
- check_circleThe real paper format: how many questions, how the marks split, how long you have, straight from the current pattern.
- check_circleTopic areas candidates consistently report as recurring, paper by paper, labelled as candidate-reported, not measured IIBF data, because we don't have IIBF's scoring breakdown and won't invent one.
- check_circleA couple of worked AFM-style numerical examples we wrote ourselves, to show the calculation style, explicitly not reproduced from any real exam.
- check_circleA route to our own original practice questions in the same format, which is the closest honest substitute for solving a past paper.
JAIIB paper pattern at a glance
The full breakdown, including the pass rule and attempt limits, lives on the exam pattern page. This is just enough to read the rest of this page against.

Original questions in the real paper format, no recalled content.
Which topics come up most often, paper by paper?
We don't have our own scored data on topic frequency yet, so treat this as directional: what candidates and coaching resources consistently describe as recurring focus areas, not a measured IIBF weightage. For the full syllabus behind each of these, see the syllabus page.
- IE&IFS
- Indian economic indicators and policy (inflation, monetary and fiscal policy), the structure of the financial system, and the roles of RBI, SEBI and IRDAI.
- PPB
- Functions and types of banking, negotiable instruments, the banker-customer relationship, KYC/AML norms, and digital banking channels.
- AFM
- Core accounting concepts, financial statement basics, and numerical items: depreciation, interest and simple ratio calculations.
- RBWM
- Retail lending and deposit products, wealth management basics, and marketing of banking products to retail customers.
Do JAIIB questions repeat from year to year?
Not in a way you can bank on. IIBF periodically revises the JAIIB syllabus and its underlying question bank (the 2023 revision is the most recent example), so an exact question from one cycle showing up verbatim in another is not something you should plan around.
What does repeat is the topic ground: concepts like KYC norms, negotiable instruments, or depreciation calculations are core to the syllabus and will keep appearing in some form, because they're core to the subject, not because a specific question is being recycled. Prepare the concept, not the question.
How to use memory-based question sets without being misled
If you come across a recalled or "memory-based" JAIIB question set elsewhere, here's how to use it without treating it as more reliable than it is:
- 1
Anchor to the real syllabus and pattern first
Use the pattern table above and the syllabus page as your reference. Treat any recalled set as a supplement to that, never as the primary source.
- 2
Read "memory-based" as reconstructed, not verbatim
It's someone's recollection typed up after the exam, not a captured original. Wording, options and even the correct answer can be off.
- 3
Verify the answer yourself
Don't trust an attached answer key at face value. Work the question out from the underlying concept. If you can't justify the given answer from the syllabus, be suspicious of it.
- 4
Use it for a sense of style, not to "spot" questions
Recalled sets are reasonable for a feel of phrasing and difficulty. Betting on any specific recalled question repeating is not a sound prep strategy.
- 5
Prefer scored, timed practice for the actual retrieval work
Reading a static set doesn't tell you what you've actually retained. A timed set that grades you, paper by paper, does.
Worked AFM examples (illustrative, not from any real exam)
AFM carries the most numerical items of the four papers, largely in the 0.5-mark bracket, so it rewards being fast and accurate with direct calculations. Two examples in that style, written for this page, not taken or adapted from any real JAIIB paper:
Illustrative example 1: straight-line depreciation. A bank buys equipment for ₹5,00,000, expects a residual value of ₹50,000, and estimates a useful life of 9 years. Straight-line depreciation = (Cost − Residual value) ÷ Useful life = (₹5,00,000 − ₹50,000) ÷ 9 = ₹50,000 per year.
Illustrative example 2: compound interest. ₹1,00,000 is invested at 8% per annum, compounded annually, for 2 years. Amount = Principal × (1 + rate)^years = ₹1,00,000 × (1.08)² = ₹1,16,640. Interest earned = ₹16,640.
Both are the kind of direct, single-concept calculation AFM's mark split rewards, not case-study-length problems. Practising this style of question, worked from first principles, is more useful than memorising any one recalled numerical.
A note on free PDF downloads
We don't offer a "JAIIB previous year papers PDF" here, and we won't link to third-party ones. No official past papers exist, and what circulates under that label is recalled content of uncertain accuracy. What's below instead is 60 practice questions we wrote ourselves, against the published syllabus, worked through so you can follow the reasoning.
Frequently asked questions
Does IIBF release official JAIIB previous year question papers?expand_more
No. IIBF does not publish past JAIIB question papers, model papers or answer keys for any cycle or any of the four papers.
Where can I get JAIIB previous papers with solutions?expand_more
Nowhere official. They don't exist to be obtained. What's available elsewhere is candidate-reconstructed "memory-based" material, which is not the same thing and shouldn't be treated as verified.
Is there a free JAIIB previous year papers PDF?expand_more
Not an official one. Free PDFs claiming to be JAIIB past papers are recalled content of uneven reliability. The pattern table and worked examples on this page, plus our free practice questions, are a more honest way to prepare against the real format.
How many questions come from each topic?expand_more
IIBF doesn't publish a topic-wise question count. The paper pattern above covers the total (100 questions, 100 marks per paper); the topic areas candidates consistently report as recurring are listed further up this page, and the full syllabus is on the syllabus page.
Do JAIIB questions repeat from year to year?expand_more
Not reliably. IIBF revises the syllabus and question bank periodically. Core topic areas recur because they're central to the subject, not because specific questions are recycled.
How should I use a recalled or memory-based JAIIB paper if I find one?expand_more
Treat it as a rough guide to style and difficulty, not a verified source: check the syllabus first, verify any answer yourself against the underlying concept, and don't count on a specific recalled question reappearing.
