IIBF DRA Exam Question Papers
IIBF keeps its DRA questions private. Here's what to prepare from instead.
If you are looking for an IIBF DRA exam question paper with answers, the direct answer is that no official one exists. IIBF does not release past DRA question papers, model papers or answer keys, and its own rules say why.
What does exist is enough to prepare properly: a published paper format, a published four-module syllabus, IIBF's own handbook, and practice questions written to that syllabus. This page sets out each one, and how to treat the "DRA question paper PDF" files that circulate online.

Why There Is No Single "Previous Paper"
The DRA exam runs on several dates through the year, in 11 languages, and each paper is drawn from IIBF's question bank. Candidates on different dates see different questions, so there is no one recent paper for everyone to have taken.
IIBF also builds in recent regulation. Exams held from March to August only use guidelines issued up to the previous 31 December; exams from September to February use guidelines up to 30 June. An old recalled question can quote a rule that has since changed.
The Paper You're Practising For

What the Format Means for Practice
100 questions in 120 minutes leaves a little over a minute per question. That is comfortable if you know the material and tight if you are reasoning from scratch, so practice should be timed.
With no negative marking, a blank and a wrong answer both score zero. Answer every question.
The pass bar is 50. It is not a formality: in FY 2024-25, 49,739 of the 1,01,983 candidates who appeared passed, a pass rate of 48.77% per IIBF's annual report.
The Ground That Recurs
Specific questions are not recycled in any way you can rely on, but these four modules are the published syllabus and every paper is set from them.
- Module A: Basics of Banking
- The Indian banking system, banker-customer relationship, deposit schemes, account opening and KYC, prevention of money laundering, and cheques under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
- Module B: Products and Legal Aspects of Recovery
- Cards, types of loans, securities and charges, loan documents, NPA classification, SARFAESI Act, Lok Adalat, DRT, suits, and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.
- Module C: Role in Loan Recovery and Soft Skills
- Collection operations, customer meeting etiquette, anger management, rights of the defaulter, the code of conduct for DRAs, the Integrated Ombudsman Scheme and the Fair Practices Code for lenders.
- Module D: Additional Reading on NBFCs
- Types of NBFCs, the loans they offer, and the Fair Practices Code for NBFCs.
How to Use a Recalled Question Set Without Being Misled
If you find a "memory-based" DRA question set elsewhere:
- 1
Anchor to the syllabus first
Check each question against the four modules above. The set is a supplement, not a source.
- 2
Read "memory-based" as reconstructed
Wording, options and even the marked answer drift as the set is copied. None of it was captured from a real paper.
- 3
Check every answer against the rule behind it
Recovery questions trace back to the SARFAESI Act, RBI's recovery-agent guidelines, the Fair Practices Code or IIBF's handbook. If you cannot justify the marked answer from one of those, treat it as wrong.
- 4
Watch for outdated rules
The Integrated Ombudsman Scheme replaced older ombudsman schemes, and IBC questions change as the law is amended. An old set can state a superseded position with full confidence.
- 5
Practise under a clock
Reading a static list tells you little about what you will recall at about a minute per question. A timed, scored set does.
The Honest Substitute: Timed DRA Practice
PrepClever's DRA mock tests are original questions written against IIBF's published four-module syllabus and the real 100-question, 2-hour format. They are not recalled from any sitting, and we don't claim they are. Use them to check your pace and find the modules you are weak in before exam day.
FAQs
Does IIBF release DRA previous year question papers?expand_more
No. IIBF's DRA Rules & Syllabus states that exam questions are part of its question bank and intellectual property, and that the questions and answers will not be shared with candidates or others.
Is there a free DRA exam question paper PDF?expand_more
Not an official one. PDFs sold or shared under that name are candidate-recalled material of unverified accuracy, and older ones can quote rules that have since changed.
How many questions are in the DRA exam?expand_more
100 multiple-choice questions for 100 marks in 2 hours, with no negative marking. The pass mark is 50 out of 100.
Do DRA exam questions repeat?expand_more
Not reliably. Each paper is drawn from IIBF's question bank. The syllabus topics recur because every paper is set from the same four modules, so prepare the topics, not specific questions.
Can I take the DRA exam in Hindi or my regional language?expand_more
Yes. IIBF offers the exam in English, Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Kannada, Oriya, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Assamese. Candidates trained in Hindi or a regional language can take it in bilingual mode with English.
What is the best substitute for past papers?expand_more
Timed, scored practice written against IIBF's four-module syllabus and the real 100-question, 2-hour format, plus IIBF's own Handbook on Debt Recovery.
